Brothermall, Epson Or Dell - Which Website Serves You Best?
By John C Arkinn

The results are finally in! Three websites, Brothermall, Epson and Dell, have been reviewed based on their ability to advise which printer model would be able to best meet their customer's needs, provide information regarding their products and services, purchasing products over their website and uniqueness in the features offered.

Meeting Customer's Needs

BrotherMall: The website of BrotherMall provides a wide range of inkjet, laser and multifunction printers. The information given by Brothermall for each of the printer models available is short yet able to provide information about the printer model that the customer is looking for. Unfortunately, the printer models shown in the Brothermall website have been grouped rather broadly. In order for a customer to find which printer model would serve his or her needs, the customer would need to go through every printer model to make his or her decision.

Epson: In the case of Epson's website, the printer models have been grouped based on what the primary printer function that the customer is looking for. Once a customer clicks this link from a menu in Epson's homepage, he or she is then brought to a page that would further narrow down his or her search. From here, he or she is taken to a list of Epson printers that would match his or her needs. But this would only go as far as printer models. Other products such as the Epson product line for their compact photo printers, the customer would need to check each and every product to determine which one is best suited for them.

Dell: Among the three, Dell takes the lead in this category. When a customer visits the website of Dell, he or she would be immediately presented with a long list of categories. These categories are based on what Dell has considered as the most important need met. In the website of Dell, customers can browse through different printer models based on their function, price and printing speed.

Product and Service Information

Brothermall: The website of Brothermall contains a customer service page that provides a list of links which aims to answer all the inquiries of a customer. Each link is properly categorized based on what the information is about. Apart from providing commonly asked questions such as shipping terms and conditions and technical inquiries, Brothermall's website also provides a free download section where a customer can download a warranty form, get a copy of a manual for a specific printer model, inquiring about the status of products purchased and information on how to properly dispose of used ink and toner cartridges.

Epson: The upside to the website of Epson is that it provides tips on how to use the different products offered in their website to create great professional-looking projects. It also provides comprehensive information on the positive points of each of the products highlighted in the different tips offered in the website. The downside of this website comes when the customer would need to inquire about some technical information about a particular product. Unlike the two other websites, Epson does not provide a page for customers to get this information. Instead, the customer would need to email the company directly on their inquiry and wait for a response from the company's customer service.

Dell: Once again, Dell beat the two other websites in this category. Not only does Dell provide technical and product information on their website, it also provides resource articles as to how the products offered in Dell would be able to assist budding business entrepreneurs kick start their business.

Purchasing Products

Brothermall: Although the interface used by Brother for a customer to make a purchase is easy, you are required to first sign up for an account before making a purchase. After you have signed up, the purchasing process is relatively easy because all of your information has already been included when you sign up for the membership. But the idea of waiting for your account to be activated and the process of verifying your account information can be rather disheartening on the part of some customers. One thing good about the website in terms of purchasing products is that it provides the most comprehensive information in terms of shipping, return and exchange policies.

Epson: In the case of the website of Epson, purchasing is relatively simple and straight to the point. There is no need to sign up for an account before making a purchase. However, additional fees and charges are written in extremely small text making it rather difficult to read and understand. The good thing about this is that Epson provides a separate link to allow customers to review all the terms and condition before making a purchase. The straightforward purchasing feature offered by Epson's website does give it the lead in this category.

Dell: Shopping in Dell's online store proved to be the most frustrating among the three. While the interface is just as direct as the other two websites, the downside is that there is no option for you to override the "Customize It" option. In short, before you are able to make a purchase, especially if you are planning to purchase a printer online, you are required to add on other products along with it.

Added Features

Brothermall: Brothermall's website's strongest feature is that apart from offering special discounts and free shipping on selected products, it also offers customers a chance to win up to $1000. This sweepstake is open to all and no purchase is required to join. Another plus factor on the website is its special offers page. Here, customers are able to avail of the latest discounts as well as avail of free items along with their purchases.

Epson: One of the plus factors of the website of Epson is that it offers rebates on purchases that are made online. Rebates range from $50 to as much as $3000. Another feature of the website is the reorder list. Previous customers are able to place an order for products that they have previously purchase with ease. This saves the customer time in having to do the entire purchasing process from the beginning. On top of this, Epson also offers customers a chance to help save the environment. Through its recycling program, customers are given a coupon for every piece of Epson equipment that they send for recycling which they can use on their next purchase.

Dell: Apart from the online chat feature, Dell's website has a number of different features that have been proven useful for customers.

And the Winner Is...

Of the three websites, Dell has proven to be the best in catering to all the needs of its customer. While shopping online did minimize its standing, it had nonetheless exceeded expectations in terms of providing information and resource materials to customers making them able to choose the perfect printer for them.

This Article is written by John C Arkinn from PrintCountry the contributor of Printer Cartridges Blog.
Epson 8350 Projector - Let's Take A Closer Look At It
By Chris Elecsa

The Epson 8350 is the successor of last year's bestselling 8100 projector and one of the latest additions to Epson's line of LCD projectors. This model is designed with entertainment, especially home entertainment, in mind. As the result, not only that you can expect to get beautiful pictures out of it, but also very simple setup process and stylish design. However, does Epson 8350 Projector really deliver outstanding performance as expected from it? You will know the answer in the matter of minutes here.

First of all, let's begin by differentiating the LCD (Liquid Color Display) and DLP (Digital Light Processing) projectors. There are actually several technical differences between those two. Nonetheless, to keep things simpler, let's focus in the brightness and contrast. Due to the embedded technologies within, LCD projectors offer brighter pictures compared to what DLP deliver. In fact, it takes a DLP projector around 30% more lumens to show a similar brightness level delivered by an LCD projector. However, DLP projectors show us higher contrast compared to LCD projectors. Whether to choose a DLP or LCD projector is really a matter of preference and need.

Epson 8350 is an LCD projector with 2,000 lumens in it. Thanks to Epson D7 chip and 50,000:1 contrast ratio, this 1080p Full HD projector is a perfect device to present your favorite movies, sport matches and video games in a nice wide-screen entertainment experience.

Epson introduced newer LCD panel technology which was originally only found in the higher class projectors, the well-known UB series. As the result, Epson 8350 delivers improved black level performance compared to its predecessors. You will, however, notice that its black level performance still lags behind the UB series. However, comes at almost half the price of UB series, it's hard for users to complain about this fact.

One interesting improvement made by Epson is in the lamp life specification. Frequent users of digital projectors will understand that a projector's lamp is not something cheap and replacing it will take additional service cost. However, Epson mentioned that the lamp in Home Cinema 8350 will last for about 4,000 hours before the replacement is needed. That's way longer than most models available in the market and will enable users to save more money in the long run. Additionally, the improvement also enables this unit to consume less power compared to other projectors. This unit, with a 200-watt lamp, delivers excellent brightness which usually takes other projectors 250 to 300 watt lamps to do.

So, does Epson 8350 Projector deliver the expected performance out of it? It's up to you to decide. However, it certainly doesn't become the bestselling projector in Amazon store with 36 satisfied users without valid reasons.

You can visit Epson 8350 Review site to find out more reasons why this model become so popular in the market.

Alternatively, simply visit Epson 8350 website and find out where to buy this projector at 52% discount offered by the webmaster.

Making a decision on your next printer will undoubtedly be tough as both manufacturers are continuously striving to innovate in design, technology and features. Your final choice of an inkjet printer should boil down to the exact features that you need. Some of the best devices from both companies will be compared in various angles to make the decision easier.

Design

Canon is famous for their PIXMA series, with each model often having a black and curvy finish to blend in well with black desktops, laptops and other peripherals. Epson's printers take a more traditional approach while their photo printers end up being quite compact.

Technologies and Features

Canon's latest PIXMA models like the iP2702 are ideal for printing clear photos without depending on a laser, so the cost of the printer is lower. It uses a special system known as ChromaLife100+ for printing photos that are long-lasting. It even comes with a software package called "Auto Photo Fix II", which enhances the quality of the photo. Borderless print options are available and speedy as well. It is also efficient in printing sharp text as it is backed with the Pigment Back Ink technology.

The price of the iP2702 is roughly £45and Epson has a few models that have the same price tag as well such as the Epson Stylus D120. This printer is aimed more towards the versatility of printing pages faster using a technology called the Dual Black System which virtually doubles the print speeds of traditional inkjet printers. The quality is up there as well thanks to the Epson DURABride Ultra Ink technology which is comparable to the quality of laser prints. Although the Epson Stylus D120 isn't designed as a colour inkjet printer like the iP2702, it manages to print some impressive glossy photos.

Variety

Epson offers a greater variety of printers with prices starting £50 and rising beyond £700 where high quality office and photo printers are being offered. Epson looks to be a good choice for people that want a great selection of printers that can do a lot of different things so that a photo printer and laser printer aren't needed in the same room.

Canon has a significant advantage in photo printers since Canon offers a greater variety of digital cameras than Epson. Features like camera connectivity and overall photo quality are their strong points while Epson makes a slightly bigger impact for businesses.

Overall Quality

Taking the technologies and different models into the equation, both Canon and Epson showcase some fantastic models for both business and home users. Users that want a reliable photo printer should stick with a Canon brand, even though Epson offers some decent models as well. Canon camera owners will better benefit from the consistent photo quality coming from the image down to the print. Epson shouldn't be counted out either because of their innovative technologies that prove that inkjets will still have a place in the industry despite the success of laser printers.

Derek Rogers is a freelance writer who writes for a number of UK businesses. For a wide range of printers and products by brand, he recommends Printware Ltd, a leading provider of Canon Inkjet Printers.

If you're looking for the Epson 835, you've made a wise buying choice. This all-in-one printer has some features that I haven't seen on any other all-in-one on the market.

In this article you will discover some of the unique features of this printer, where to buy, and how to avoid paying too much.

Print More Than Documents

This printer allows you to print more than just your standard papers and documents. You can just sit back, relax, and find what you're looking for without stepping a foot outside of your home. It is also infinitely easier to comparison shop online as you can quickly pull up all of the information you need to make your buying decision.

How to Avoid Overpaying On the Epson 835

If you're overpaying on your Epson 835, it's because of lack of knowledge. No one would willingly overpay unless it was extremely inconvenient to pay less. So we will be discussing a method of researching the prices that the market has to offer.

The easiest way to get an overview of the market price-spread, as I like to call it, is through the use of comparison shopping sites. Epson Picturemate Deluxe offers fast and easy photo printing, editing and printing at home or office. You can print your photos on glossy 4x6 paper. With this photo printer, it is a quick process to make a direct printing from any PictBridge compatible digital camera and memory cards, and you don't need a PC. You can view your images in clear details on its photo viewer. Epson Picturemate Deluxe lacks an adapter for mini SD cards.

This is truly a very good medium level photo printer. Here are some of the important specifications and features (and my comments) of Epson Picturemate Deluxe:

* There are a lot of image options, including mini-wallets, fun Disney borders, and Borderless

* Premium 2.4-inch photo viewer for selecting and editing photos makes the selecting and printing of the photo pretty good

* Direct photo printing from popular digital camera memory cards without a PC with memory slots of all sizes

* It uses the Advanced Micro-Piezo ink jet print technology that is optimized for photo printing

* Up to 5,760 x 1,440 color dpi resolution which is more than any normal home user would probably need

* Printer supports CompactFlash Type I and II, Secure Digital (SD), MMC, Memory Stick (including PRO, Duo, MagicGate), SmartMedia, Microdrive xD-Picture Card

* ContrastPLUS 5-color ink system; built-in two-sided printing (again great for a home printer, you probably will not use it a lot but still is good to have)

* Printer ink cartridges: T5570 ink cartridge (6 Color) (PrintPack)

Here what comes in the regular box: Epson PictureMate Deluxe printer, power cable, starter PictureMate photo printer ink cartridge, 20 sheets of PictureMate Photo Paper, CD-ROM, user guides; Epson Software Film Factory (PC and Macintosh compatible, P.I.M. and Exif Print-enabled0029

The street price of this printer ranges between $175 and $250 but this is only a part of the story as we all know. It is the supplies that will make the bulk of the cost of ownership.

With Epson PictureMate deluxe, printer supplies cost seems to be reasonable with OEM cartridge being about $35. There are also quality compatible cartridges that you can use for about only $12 or so.

Now lets calculate the true cost of ownership (per month) of this printer. This is how we calculate cost of ownership of a printer: "number of prints per month" times "cost of the printer cartridge" divided by "the yield of the printer cartridge".

For example, lets assume that you will print 20 photos per month using this printers ink cartridge set that yields about 20 photos and a set of cartridges cost $35 for the genuine Epson brand ink cartridges. The monthly "cost of ownership" is then

(20 photos) x ($35) / 20 pages = $35 / month. A little pricey, but if you were using the Epson compatible replacement cartridges (good quality ones exist and comparable to OEMs unless you are in professional photography printing of course), the cost of ownership would be a much more reasonable of about $12 / month with the same formula.

Epson Compatible Ink Cartridges - Pigmented Versus Dye Based Inks

When shopping for Epson compatible ink cartridges and ink for other brands of printers in the UK, it's important to know what type of ink the cartridge contains. The time to investigate the ink issue is before you buy a printer. Here's some information about the two major types of ink currently available -- pigmented and dye-based -- that might help you make an informed purchasing decision.

Paper Type and Print Longevity

For every day printing, most people use inexpensive porous paper. For photo printing, swellable paper is recommended. Pigmented inks work with any type of paper. With dye-based inks, porous paper allows the ink to dry quickly, but the print quality is poor. With dye-based ink, swellable paper makes better quality prints, but can take days to fully dry. Dye-based inks absorb into the paper while pigmented inks remain on the paper's surface, due to their encapsulated particles. Here's another point that's a bit technical but very important: The molecules that make up dye-based ink tend to spread out and because of this spreading; images produced with dye-based inks tend to fade more quickly. The spread-out molecules are more susceptible to reactions, such as exposure to sunlight, that contribute to image fading. With pigmented inkjet cartridges, the molecules are larger and less exposed to agents that cause fading. The pigment is protected by the molecules, making this ink ideal for archival printing, since pigment-based images can last for decades.

Water Resistance

The dye in dye-based inks is water-soluble, meaning that it dissolves in water. This means that if a dye-based printed image is exposed to water, the ink comprising the image will dissolve into the water and ruin the image. Pigmented inks do not dissolve completely and tend to bind to the fibres in the paper, making them more water-resistant.

Which Ink to Choose for Inkjet Printer Cartridges?

The better inkjet cartridges contain pigmented inks. In fact, superior colour cartridges use up to five inks, rather than the usual three. Pigmented inks can do dual duty for printing everyday documents and graphics as well as high-quality photographic images. The colour gamut of pigmented inks far exceeds that of dye-based inks. An ink's colour gamut is the maximum number of colours produced by the ink. Think of gamut as a range of possible colours obtained by a pigmented ink. Colour gamut is influenced by factors like paper absorption, reflected light and ink impurities. Pigmented inks are also preferred because they are compatible with any type of paper. Add to that fast printing, fast drying and image longevity, and pigmented inks become the inks of choice for Epson compatible ink cartridges and other quality cartridges such as those from Brother and Canon.

So whether you're buying Canon, Epson, Brother or any other brand of ink cartridge in the UK, be sure to determine whether it contains dye-based or pigmented ink.

We have finally advanced to a time when technology can greatly improve graphics and printing. The technology we have at our
disposal now is so advanced we are able to produce inkjet printers capable of printing proofs so accurate they can actually represent the end product. This type of advanced technology has provided businesses with a major advantage over the competition in todays cut throat business world.

The printer industry has come a long way since the antiquated days of dot matrix printers. Even the early inkjet printers suffered from numerous problems such as clogging the print heads with dried ink when not in use and constant ink leaks. The amazing advances in inkjet technology has allowed many businesses to become far more self sufficient in terms of producing their own brochures and sales material.

For example, the new Epson Stylus Pro series printer uses chrome seven color ink advancement technology. With this product, users are still able to make use of the usual CMYK colors; however they also now have the option to utilize light cyan, light magenta, and gray. The addition of these three extra colors is anticipated to greatly enhance the overall picture quality the printer is capable of producing. The inkjet industry has come a long way indeed and now even home users can achieve more fantastic graphical output than they ever thought possible.

While the inkjet industry continues to evolve and develop a number of companies are making the decision to specialize in the inkjet industry. Xennia, an independent company, is just one of these companies. Since they moved to inkjet specialization, Xennia has built a solid reputation for their expertise in all aspects of the inkjet process. This company’s ability to keep up

with the constantly changing aspects of the inkjet industry is just one of the many reasons they have seen so much success. Regardless of whether the consumer is looking for information on ink, printheada or print media and platforms; Xennia is sure to have made ground breaking advancements. Xennia also offers classes to better enable individuals and corporations to fully understand the ever changing technology in the field of inkjet. Making use of the cutting edge technological services available at companies like Xennia is just one of the ways many corporations are finding to stay ahead of future competition.

The printing world is evolving right before our eyes. In 2003, the inkjet industry celebrated a ten year anniversary for the
introduction of dpi inkjet printers. Over the last decade, the inkjet industry has emerged to become a giant in the printing
